accommodations

GRAND HOTEL CAPODIMONTE

The hotel and venue where we’re getting married! We picked this spot because of the stunning views and how easy it is to walk into town. Email the hotel for a discounted rate. Let them know it’s for the Miller/York wedding.

Prices are currently quite high. If you’re willing to wait for them to decrease, I recommend checking out the hotels listed below on Booking.com that offer free cancellations a week before your stay.

HOTEL RIVAGE

Very walkable location. Less than a 5 minute walk to Grand Hotel Capodimonte.

ARTIS DOMUS RELAIS & SPA

In the heartbeat of Sorrento. Less than a 7 minute walk to Grand Hotel Capodimonte.

Please be mindful that taxis and Uber rides can be quite costly. Staying within walking distance of town would be an excellent way to save on transportation expenses. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of us :)

transportation

NAPLES TO SORRENTO

To get from Naples Airport to Sorrento, the easiest and most recommended option is a private car service, which will pick you up at arrivals and take you directly to your hotel in about an hour—the coastal roads are quite windy, so be prepared if you’re prone to motion sickness or hungover ;)
For a more budget-friendly option, you can take a taxi or shuttle to Napoli Centrale railway station and then ride the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, though it can be crowded.

---------
We recommend booking a private transfer through a reputable company such as Joe Banana Limos, Positano Limo Service, or Sorrento Limo, all of which offer reliable, comfortable service and will meet you directly at the airport for a seamless trip to Sorrento.

things to do

WANDER VIA SAN CESAREO

This historic area is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel - wander through the charming historic streets. You’ll find little boutiques, cafés, and enough lemon-themed souvenirs to last a lifetime.

Pro tip: Get lost on purpose. That’s when you find the best spots.

EXPLORE THE AMALFI COAST

A quick ferry from Sorrento
MUST- SEE TOWNS:
CAPRI - island known for its crystal-clear water, dramatic cliffs, and charming seaside views
POSITANO - colorful cliffside views and chic beach clubs
AMALFI - historic cathedral and seaside charm
RAVELLO - incredible gardens and panoramic terraces

Bring your camera. And maybe Dramamine if you get seasick ;)

DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Also a valid plan. Find a sunny terrace, order an Aperol spritz, enjoy the sea views, and remind yourself you’re on the Italian coast.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be there?

No—but it does mean more wine and gelato for us. In all seriousness, we know traveling to Italy is a big ask. Please only attend if it works for your schedule, budget, and social battery. We promise there will be more chances to celebrate with us closer to home.

What is the dress code?

Cocktail optional. Dance shoes required.
Think Italian summer meets Milan Fashion Week — bold, stylish, and ready to celebrate. Bright colors, polka dots, stripes, and feathers are highly encouraged.

Are the events indoors or outdoors?

Most events will be outdoors, so plan accordingly for sunshine, breezes, and possibly uneven cobblestones.

How many days should I plan to stay?

The wedding events will take place over Tuesday and Wednesday, but we highly recommend making a trip out of it if you can. You’re already in Italy— you might as well lean into the pasta, wine, and gelato research. Or check out more cities along the coast. We will be doing the same!

Do I need to speak Italian?

While it would definitely help, most people in Sorrento understand English. That said, learning a few local phrases can go a long way—and it’s a fun way to impress the locals! Here are a few essentials to help you get by:
• Ciao! – Hello / Goodbye
• Per favore – Please
• Grazie – Thank you
• Dove è il bagno? – Where is the bathroom?
• Un caffè, per favore – One coffee, please
• Delizioso! – Delicious
• Cin Cin - Cheers!
• Salute! – Cheers!

Do I have to stay at the wedding hotel?

Nope! You’re welcome to stay wherever works best for your travel style and budget. We’ve listed some recommended options nearby, but if you find a dreamy villa or tiny Italian Airbnb, we fully support that adventure.

What should I wear in Italy?

Think stylish but comfortable. Italy in September can be warm, so breathable fabrics and sensible shoes are your friends.

Do The Millers and The Yorks like to party?

Yes.
